Sophisticated Hearing: What’s New About Hearing Health In 2023?
At Sophisticated Hearing, we are excited to announce the Grand Opening of our new state-of-the-art hearing care center. The office will be moving one-half mile from our previous location in Ho-Ho-Kus. The New address is 531 N. Maple Avenue in Ridgewood, NJ. The expanded facility has ample parking and is handicap accessible. The large space includes two sound-treated booths for hearing health and testing and multiple consultation rooms with the newest Audiology equipment available on the market.
What Is in Store for 2023?
Since the industry is continuously changing and new technologies are being created, it is difficult to anticipate exactly what hearing aid technology will look like in 2023. But we will likely continue to see hearing aids incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and other cutting-edge technology.
Take Good Care of Your Ears
Are you aware that approximately 15% of adults in the United States report some difficulty hearing? Hearing loss is the third most common chronic condition in older adults. Hearing loss is an invisible condition that generally occurs gradually over many years. Because of this, it is possible that a person has hearing loss and may not be aware of it.
Ear Health is For Life
We often make excuses for why we didn’t hear someone: “the restaurant was too loud”, “I wasn’t paying attention” or we accuse someone of not speaking clearly. Because of this, it is important to have your hearing tested regularly. The American Speech Language and Hearing Association recommends individuals with normal hearing have a hearing test every ten years. Once you turn fifty years of age, it is recommended that you have your hearing tested every three years. When someone has hearing loss, a hearing test every 1-2 years is recommended.
Our Commitment to You
Sophisticated Hearing has been and will continue to be dedicated to assisting you and your family with your hearing care needs. We offer evidence-based and gold-standard practices for hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and tinnitus management. Dr. Olson is in-network with many health insurance networks including Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, United Healthcare, and United Healthcare Oxford. Even though not every health insurance plan covers hearing-related services, Sophisticated Hearing is happy to check your insurance benefits to see what coverage is available to you. As an independent practice, we are committed to your individual needs and work with most of the major hearing aid manufacturers.
